(2016) Casa Comum, Rio de Janeiro (BR)
two metal plates, electricpiezo, oscillators, drive, amplified speakers, urban sediments
abalo sísmico brings the context of the public construction that was crossing the daily life of Rio de Janeiro's city, during Pre-Olimpic Games. Two metal plates are placed on loudspeakers, in which an oscillator sends low frequencies. The physical effect of the sound causes tremor on the metal surface. Fragments of concrete and glass are placed on the surface. The tremor causes trembling between these elements, revealing their audible properties, in an infinite kinetic movement.
